Uploading files:
---------------

* To upload new files:
    - Name the files, beginning with the date of the teaching, as YYYYMMDD (year month date)
        like this:  20100310-dalai_lama_speech.mp3
          or this:  20100310.mp3
    - The newest file will display at the top.


    If you want a folder for new files, 
        - You can make it through your ftp program:
            Right-click on the "server side" of the ftp program,
                select "create directory" 
                and name the directory.
        - Or just upload the entire folder where you want it to be.

More about display and sorting of the files:
-------------------------------------------

* Naming the files and folders:
    Things will work better if you use only 
        - small and CAP letters, 
        - numbers,
        - underscore _   
        - hyphen -
        - dot .
    No spaces, no ( or ) or '
    (This is because we are now in the Wide Web World, not in the small windows world!)

* Sorting order of files and folders:
    - Files will sort in reverse numerical order, so that the file with
        newest date will be at the top.
    - Folders will sort in reverse numerical order, if their name begins with a number (date).
           They will sort in normal alphabetical order if their name begins with letters.
           Capital letters will sort before lower case.

* To see a new folder with the "pretty file listings":
    - The file 'index.php' makes the file listings that you see in the web browser.
    - Download the "index.php" file, then upload it into the new folder.
    - That's all!  Just view the new folder in your web browser,
        and you should see it all pretty.

* If you want to show some information about the files in a directory, 
    just make a text file with the information, call the file Notes.txt ,
    and upload it into the directory. 
    The script will display the information at the top of the page.
    (You can put html/css code in the file, and it will operate correctly in the page.)

* To the site developer/programmer:
   - If you don't want a file to show up in the file listings,
        just edit the "index.php" and add its name in the "exclude" file list
        that starts on line 138.
   - The script is free, open source, so please feel free to change it, 
        use it anywhere, give away, if it is useful to you.
